I recently had the pleasure of attending Triathlon Australia’s Celebration of Champions Awards Dinner, a night where the past 12 months of Australian Triathlon is remembered and celebrated. This is an amazing opportunity for the triathlon community to get together and appreciate our sport. There was great food, great company, Hall of Fame inductees and awards were presented for a range of different achievements.
I was honoured to receive what I feel is a prestigious award, the Chris Hewitt Emerging Athlete Award. The award is named after a former TA president and well respected advocate of triathlon who sadly passed away in tragic circumstances. It recognizes athletes who have shown great promise and potential emerging onto the international triathlon scene. I never had the pleasure of meeting Chris, but from his reputation I feel greatly privileged to have received this award for my efforts.
I’m further honoured to have received this award alongside Mirinda Carfrae and Luke McKenzie who took home the female & male Individual Performances of the Year.
I’ve attached a few pictures & you can also read a little bit more about the night and the other award winners on the link here.
Thanks for the support!
